Sample 1

Here is a sample response for the IELTS writing essay on the topic “Countries are becoming more and more similar”:

Introduction

Nowadays, anyone can find any product from another country either through a supermarket or an online mart. I believe this is a great way to experience different parts of the world, their culture, and cuisine from anywhere and everywhere. I will discuss the positives of the vanishing differences between people from various parts of the world.

Body

Firstly, the growing use of internet has made it easy to connect with the rest of the world. Therefore, one of the most startling impacts is that you can try another country’s recipe just by watching a video on the internet. For instance, being a Korean drama fan, I was craving to try a Korean delicacy called “tteokbokki”, also known as chewy rice sticks. I had seen this one numerous times on the screen. I watched a video only to realize the recipe was very simple to follow.

Furthermore, upon observing, I noticed increasing curiosity among the people of my generation to use products from other countries. This market is not only profitable to large companies but also micro, small, and medium enterprises. The competitive market will lead to creative innovations and technological enhancement in almost all sectors. The consumers worldwide will seek authenticity and quality. Hence, business will strive to meet their demands.

Conclusion

To sum up, the correct advertising and manufacturing can encourage people to get curious and then regular consumers of any food or product like smartphones. I opine that this can often be an effective way to promote innovation in developed and developing economies.

Sample 2

Here is a sample response for the IELTS writing essay on the same topic with emphasis on the negative effects this time. This one will help you score over 7 bands in IELTS writing.

Introduction

In today’s world, various products have developed active markets across the globe. This has led to increasing unhealthy consumerism. Thus, I believe this has more negatives than positives. Further, I have discussed some examples that support my belief.

Body

It is hard for me to overlook the adverse developments due to the increasing effect on international trade and, hence, the creation of fierce competition among companies. The import and export of goods is one of the main reasons for a nation’s growth as an economy. This international commerce can be impacted adversely due to goods being available in the same land. I acknowledge the fact that many of them are produced internationally, hence, this will initially increase the import. Yet eventually, this practice will led to having a manufacturing unit in the country.

Furthermore, these manufacturers will lower their prices despite their produce being potentially unauthentic. This system generates a force of overworked and underpaid workforce. In the race to offer the most affordable options to increase sales, companies end up exploiting their own employees, be it technology like Apple or food like the growing craze for Korean cuisine. The consumers are often left with no reason to not opt for the cheaper options.

Conclusion

To summarize, getting similar products and goods can impact economies of several nations in a negative way. Thus, I believe that it is, overall, a negative development for the country and its people.

Sample 3

Here is the third sample response for the IELTS writing essay on the topic “Countries are becoming more and more similar”:

Introduction

Globalization has made buying and selling of imported goods very easily. Therefore, this has also led to the homogenization of goods and cultures. This, in my opinion, has more negative impacts than positive ones. I will discuss in detail how countries becoming similar in terms of availability of products is negative affects on the economy.

Body

To commence with, the vanishing cultural diversity can lead to cultural appropriation and loss of authenticity of many cultures. Especially, the ones with fewer population or members can experience their originality being lost. This is, indeed, the worst impact out of all. For instance, when fast food outlets from America entered Asian markets, the youth and even the families shifted to the unhealthy alternatives of food, despite having healthier and tastier options. This was made possible through advertising.

Moreover, this trend also hurt the local businesses and food outlets that offered culturally authentic cuisine of that country. In addition to this, the prevailing culture is also a product of apt advertisement and competitive costs to attract masses towards the product. Moreover, the compelling and addictive taste has also made the customers become regular consumers of these products. This also contributes to more manufacturing and stuffing of landfills with waste.

Conclusion

To sum up, this practice leads to a very negative development in the shape of increasing unhealthy consumerism, competition, and environmental pollution.
