United Kingdom Offers Indian Students a Special Visa Route to Study and Work

The government of the United Kingdom has started the application process for the UK-India Young Professionals Scheme 2025. This scheme offers both residents and Indians the opportunity to live, study, travel, and work in both the UK and India for up to two years.

Know About UK-India Young Professionals Scheme 2025

The British government has announced the beginning of applications for the India-UK ‘Young Professionals Scheme’ (YPS) 2025, offering Indian students an opportunity to live, study, work, and travel in the UK for two years. According to the British Deputy High Commission in Hyderabad, a total of 3,000 visas will be issued under this scheme.

I strongly encourage people from all the corners of the country to apply- from Itanagar to Coimbatore, from Leh to Surat, and from Bhubaneswar to Indore.”

Eligibility for Indian Nationals

This section will let you know about the eligibility criteria for the scheme for being an Indian student.

  • Applicants must be 18 years old on the date they plan to travel to the UK
  • They must have proof of £2,530 that is Rs, 2,70,824 (approx) in savings to support themselves in the UK.
  • Should not have any children under the age of 18 who live with you or who you’re financially responsible for.
  • Ensure they meet all other requirements before entering the ballot.   

Eligibility for UK Residents

  • They must qualify for a UK bachelor’s degree level or above and must be between 18-30.
  • They must have Rs, 2,50,000 in their bank account for a minimum period of 30 days.
  • Applicants should ensure they meet all eligibility requirements before entering the ballot.

 Application Process for UK-India Young Professional Scheme

Students who are willing to study, work, travel, and live through this scheme must enter the required details on YPS ballot.

  • Name
  • Date of Birth
  • Passport Details and scanned image of the same
  • Phone number and email address  

Application Process

  • The application window will be open from February 18 to 20
  • There is no fee at the time of application
  • Eligible candidates will be randomly selected. Those selected will be notified through email within two weeks of the ballot closing and will be invited to apply for a visa.
  • Those selected will then need to pay the necessary visa processing fees.

Note: Selected applicants must return to India after completing two years in the UK under this scheme.
