The University of Sheffield does not consider the interview aspect for every course for admission; therefore, it is not a prior requirement for all. But some of the departments at the university prefer to interview with the objective of additional assessment of the student's motivation and also for assessing their personal qualities. Students must know that applications are assessed on the basis of academic achievements.  

UCAS extra act as an extra choice for the students at the University of Sheffield. According to this, if applicants have used there all five choices on the application and are not left with any offer, then there is still a score for admission. This can be used by those students as well who have not received decisions on all five choices or if the offers were declined. But if you have made an application for one choice and wish to add more, you are required to pay some extra charges in the form of an application fee. 

The University of Sheffield has prescribed certain important matter that needs to be mentioned in the personal statement. Also, according to the university, a good personal statement must showcase the enthusiasm of the students for the subject. It is also suggested that students emphasise more on the details of the statement. This detailed aspect shows the interest of the students in that particular subject. 

The University of Sheffield does not consider any transfer request during the course of year one but takes into consideration those applications that are made to begin BA history and another dual degree at the beginning of year two. Students should also know that the option of transfer is not available for politics or BA Archaeology and history.
