Southwest Minnesota State University assigns every student an advisor to assist for the academic-related information. Students can find their academic advisors by clicking on E-Services which is under the ‘Menu’ tab displayed on the top left. Students are required to enter the Star ID and password.  After clicking on the courses and registration, click on modify/view class schedule and the name of the advisor will be displayed on the top of the page. 

Possibly a yes, as Southwest Minnesota State University offers some online courses which creates a mandatory requirement of being online. For Online-Synchronous course, students are required to log in and join at a specified date and time. On the other hand, HyFlex course offers the students with a choice to either join in real-time in the classroom or asynchronously online. Whereas, Mostly Online course have options for the students of face-to-face meetings or proctoring exam elements. 

Southwest Minnesota State University understands the importance of funds while studying abroad. The university has numerous scholarship programs to assist the students financially. Students must apply for such scholarships after reviewing them thoroughly. Various majors at SMSU comprise information related to the scholarship program on the academic program page. Students can contact to advisors for seeking help related to financial aid and scholarships. 

Yes, the students of Southwest Minnesota State University are provided with the necessary support for their technical concerns. A help desk at The Technology Resource Center is available for 15 hours a week for some short hours during holidays and weekends. Students can access TRC either through mobile or via email. Technology Resource Centre is user-friendly support and offers instant support to make sure that students do not have to wait for prolonged hours.

Southwest Minnesota State University ensures the overall development of its students through career planning and placement services. Right from the beginning of the first semester, students are encouraged to reach Career Services which assists with selecting a major and preparing for a future career. Career Services works with students on Mustang Promise to provide placement opportunities. Students are offered continuous help from advisors related to their job search.
