PTE Result Rechecking
Till now, we have learnt many important things. It is time to know what to do if you are unhappy or unsatisfied with the result of the PTE exam. Every candidate must know that there is a provision for rechecking and rescoring. But here is some details that you should know:
- Limited Recheck Scope: A candidate who is not satisfied with the result can request a recheck. It is only applicable to the Speaking and Writing sections. The Reading and Listening sections are computerized. Hence, there is no scope for changes and rescoring.
- Not Guaranteed to Change: PTE is a computer-scored test, so the chances of changes in score after a recheck are low. As already mentioned, only the spoken and written responses are rechecked.
- Fee Involved: A fee of approximately $50 (INR 4133) must be paid to request rechecking. Moreover, the fee is non-refundable even if the scores are unchanged.
- Test Retake Option: If you are still not satisfied with the result, then there is an option to retake it. You can take the PTE exam again to improve your Reading and Listening scores. The drawback of retaking the exam is you have to bear all the expenses by yourself.
The rescoring process can be hectic and heartbreaking since the test takers have given their best. You can sign up for online PTE classes in order to avoid these inconvenience and strengthen your preparation. If you enrol in classes, then there are high chances that you don’t have to opt for the recheck PTE result.
What Conditions Are Applied for Rescoring PTE Results?
Every process of studying abroad has it’s own rules and regulations, so does the rechecking process. Here is the list of few terms and conditions for rescoring the test results.

- The candidate can raise only one request per test. Moreover, it is applicable for the most recent test.
- The test-taker cannot raise a rechecking request if they have already scheduled another exam.
